Desplome by Martillo Neumatico
DESPLOME

2020

Tortosa, Spain

Fabricated from dunnage airbags, the project aims to freeze a specific instant: the breaking down of a wall. An inclined plane over seven meters high holds its position in a fragile equilibrium. Placed in the historic ruins of the Dels Dolors church, Desplome (collapse) is a counter monument that questions the ruins’ state of pause. The forces accumulated are released in a public action that collapses the image of a frozen wall to announce the end of the festival.
